The first project starts in January 2020 PCTO SimAv for the M.L. King Scientific High School in Genoa.
The use of simulation in first aid allows for the creation of Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO, formerly known as School-Work Alternation), which, as required by current legislation, establish a mandatory number of hours of activity for secondary school students from grade 3 onwards.
The high school group is offered the opportunity to use high-fidelity medical simulation technologies, simulate an outpatient setting with medium- and low-fidelity tools, and even practice basic surgery.
The activities will take place on January 20, 21, and 27, and February 3 and 4, for a total of 20 hours. Specifically, the training program, through lectures and simulation exercises, will address emergency/urgent topics such as: the emergency kit, wound dressing, stitching, hand washing, monitoring vital signs, first aid, burn treatment, and first aid in the event of drowning, poisoning, and drug use. February 3 is dedicated to the course. "Bleeding Control Basic".
