Web accessibility and assistive technology. Digital inclusion tools.

December 3, 2019 | Aula Magna, University of Genoa Building

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the University of Genoa is organizing the conference "Web Accessibility and Assistive Technology. Tools for Digital Inclusion" to promote the rights and well-being of all persons with disabilities.

With a view to full accessibility and inclusion, sign language interpretation and subtitling services will be provided.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), established by the UN in 1992, is a day to promote broader and deeper understanding of disability issues, support the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in all areas of life, combat all forms of discrimination and violence, and reaffirm the principles of the UN Convention, starting with "Nothing about us without us."

The conference is part of the European project Risewise “Women with Disabilities in Social Engagement” to which the SimAv participates with the aim of contributing to interdisciplinary research activities aimed at identifying barriers to social inclusion, with respect to the topic of digital accessibility and inclusion.

The conference proceedings were published with the Genoa University Press - GUP.
