Since the 2018-2019 academic year, SimAv has been participating in University projects for the orientation and for PCTO - Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation (formerly Alternanza Scuola Lavoro), which, as required by current legislation, establish a mandatory number of hours of activity for secondary school students from grade 3 onwards.
Through lectures and simulation exercises, the projects launched so far offer the opportunity to take advantage of high-fidelity medical simulation technologies, to simulate an outpatient environment with medium- and low-fidelity tools, and even to practice basic surgery.
The objectives are:
- increase the ability to take anamnesis, also for the purposes of correct communication towards rescuers
- offer students the opportunity to use high-fidelity medical simulation technologies to perform simple cardiopulmonary resuscitation operations, airway clearance maneuvers, interventions in cases of poisoning, hemorrhages, wounds and trauma
- simulate an outpatient environment with medium and low fidelity tools up to low surgery exercises
In particular, the Centre has created a project of School-Work Alternation with the Champagnat Institute of Genoa through a high-level training course using simulation technology, within the pilot project "Interdisciplinary University School-Work Alternation Project", presented at the 2018 Orientamenti Fair.
